Silk can be cared for by spraying it down with vodka and spot treated with diluted hydrogen peroxide. Also, hand washing silk is fine if you don’t mind the Sheen dulling over time, which I don’t because it’s still comfortable to wear. You just have an evolving garment 🤭

I’m new to your channel. I hoped as a novice regarding fabrics as I don’t actually make clothes yet, I was hoping the videos on fabrics would give me more understanding of fabrics. There are some lovely fabrics but I want to learn more about the fabrics themselves, what you would typically use them for and how they behave, tips on sewing them. I tend to make doll clothes, curtains and soft furnishings. Hence a lot of clothing fabrics I’m nkt at all knowledgable about. Do you have any video’s that might help me.

I just cut out a pair of navy wool trousers for myself last week and reading thru the pattern instructions for the mock zipper with their teeny tiny pictures was daunting. Then I saw this video and presto - this looks so much easier! This will be my first pair of trousers, but here is a question, my pattern didn't come with the two small separate pieces, the fly and the fly shield. Any suggestions where I might find dimensions to cut these pieces for my project? Thanks so much for this great technique and video!

OMG😮😮 AS I SIT ON MY SEWING MACHINE RIGHT NOW..the idea with the sticky tape Helps Allot..!!! But it's stitching better on on direction. When I turn it the other direction, it's sticking . But. The scotch tape is helping me allot. (At least I don't feel like PULLING OUT MY HAIR...like before..)😶😶 But I WILL get those presser feet. Thank youuuuuu👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏽💖💯

Great pattern - don’t know where it orginated, but your explanation is the best so far. When I’m teaching patch pockets, I instruct students to turn under the bottom, then sides, and the. The top last. That leaves a cleaner edge at the sewn top corners.

This is more like it. According to the instructions that came with my new serger, there are only 2 places that need oil. That sure doesn’t seem correct. According to Singer’s instructions for my sewing machine, there’s evidently nothing that needs oil because there is no mention of it. Amazing!

Thank you for such an informative and useful video. I have purchased some clear vinyl and textured vinyl to make some bags. My Singer Quantum Stylist 9960, (which I love) just will not co-operate with the clear vinyl, even when using every tip and trick you suggest. It sews through the textured vinyl, and jelly with ease but the stitches on the clear vinyl come out minute, if at all. It just will not flow through even with paper underneath. Any more suggestions? I have tried a heavy 90 needle and a microtex 80 needle. Its very frustrating !!!

Great tutorial thank you very much!Do you think it would be possible to use this method in order to make ruffles and if so,would the length of the shirred fabric be manageable to adjust to the flat fabric without having to stretch it more?

If I wanted to make these into ones that came to the top of my knee- would I need to adjust any measurements besides the length? Or would the leg holes be too big? I don’t have very big thighs and don’t know how to make the adjustments on my own, or even if any are needed. Thanks! These are so cute! I’m making some by the tutorial pattern now. Just got them cut out and resting a minute before I put them together. I’m going on vacation soon and would like to have some that are knee length to wear then.

Dear Stitch Sisters, I hope u r doing well. I have a curious query!! It's about easing required in the pattern of a deep neck, fitted blouse of waist length. In the above-mentioned kind of pattern, does the easing needed in the bust circumference vary with respect to the high bust circumference of a body. That is, if the high bust of a pattern is 32", the ease needed in the bust has to be lesser than that which is needed for the pattern with 42" high bust. thanks in advance :)

I'm making the cropped version with the popover placket but I'm just realising that the front facing doesn't have a pattern piece or instructions for a front facing piece without a center front seam? Did I miss something? I'm going to measure how much to cut off at CF and have a seam there but it would be better to have a single piece in the front. It feels like for how good their instructions are, surely I must he missing something!? Hmmm
